But perhaps the incidents at Rattlechain and <a title=\"toxic assault\" href=\"http:\/\/whatliesbeneathrattlechainlagoon.org.uk\/?p=7255\" target=\"_blank\">Rhodia\/Solvay&#8217;s 2009 fire <\/a>perhaps focussed the minds of this pious supercilious bunch of chemical industry sympathisers. More about that in a future blog post.<\/p>\n<p>Both versions give basic information on the highly toxic flammable substance, and are still quite similar but the health effects section appears to have been tweaked.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">&#8220;Health Effects <\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Major route of exposure <\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">effects may occur following exposure by all routes (ingestion, inhalation, dermal or ocular exposure) &#8220;<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div id=\"attachment_7508\" style=\"width: 605px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/whatliesbeneathrattlechainlagoon.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/PSEPHOS2.png\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-7508\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-7508 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/whatliesbeneathrattlechainlagoon.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/PSEPHOS2.png\" alt=\"PSEPHOS2\" width=\"595\" height=\"315\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-7508\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">&#8220;small amounts&#8221;<\/p><\/div>\n<p>There remain however substantive gaps when it comes to the actual &#8220;management&#8221; of a chemical, especially in terms of remediating former waste dumps where the chemical was buried and even the question of PHE&#8217;s maxim <span style=\"color: #999999;\">&#8220;<span style=\"color: #333333;\">protecting and improving the nation&#8217;s health&#8221; being explored.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/whatliesbeneathrattlechainlagoon.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/PHEPHOS31.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7510\" src=\"http:\/\/whatliesbeneathrattlechainlagoon.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/PHEPHOS31.png\" alt=\"PHEPHOS3\" width=\"598\" height=\"580\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/whatliesbeneathrattlechainlagoon.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/PHEPHOS4.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7511\" src=\"http:\/\/whatliesbeneathrattlechainlagoon.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/PHEPHOS4.png\" alt=\"PHEPHOS4\" width=\"595\" height=\"108\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Well that&#8217;s really helpful isn&#8217;t it!<\/p>\n<p>Below is version one of the 2007 Health Protection Agency white phosphorus incident management for posterity.<\/p>\n<p>The most interesting omission from the new version\u00a0are the &#8220;frequently asked questions&#8221; about white phosphorus (pages 11 and 12 of the 2007 original).\u00a0Perhaps Public Health England would rather we didn&#8217;t ask questions about this chemical anymore, its past and current military use and misuse abroad in fake terror wars.<\/p>\n<p>There was also of course their abysmal <a title=\"money for nothing \" href=\"http:\/\/whatliesbeneathrattlechainlagoon.org.uk\/?page_id=3859\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;human health risk assessment&#8221;
