A former resident of Wimbledon has fallen on hard times. As a forerunner to David Cameron’s “big society” a London womble has been relocated to Sandwell for housing<\/a>. Unfortunately what he was promised by the local authority traffickers did not appear to be quite what he expected. This is his story……<\/p>\n

A furry\u00a0outcast refugee,<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0Got off the train at Oldbury. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Lost, confused\u00a0 he needed aid<\/strong><\/p>\n

a home, some food- a job that paid.<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

As if by magic a fella appeared<\/strong><\/p>\n

His accent was a little weird.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Hello ah kid, u want a place?”<\/strong><\/p>\n

said\u00a0the rotund chubby face<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

“This is a great place to stay<\/strong><\/p>\n

you want a job, it will pay?”<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The job flyer add was very clear\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Litter champion wanted here”<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

“Oh yes sir thank you very much<\/strong><\/p>\n

I have experience in such.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

“Well this is where you as<\/em> to\u00a0crash<\/strong><\/p>\n

in return for pickin up trash.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

A dotted map guided our champ<\/strong><\/p>\n

to where he was to work and camp.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The womble pondered on his way<\/strong><\/p>\n

of the street where he was to stay.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Nelson”- a name of mystery<\/strong><\/p>\n

An admiral or\u00a0African history?<\/strong><\/p>\n

On seeing the giant load of crap<\/strong><\/p>\n

Weeds, flies, tyres and bricks<\/strong><\/p>\n

needles and used coverings for pricks.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tonnes and tonnes of industrial spoil<\/strong><\/p>\n

window frames and piles of soil<\/strong><\/p>\n

The notices were strange to see<\/strong><\/p>\n

amongst the stinking debris<\/strong><\/p>\n

“In this place I cannot exist<\/strong><\/p>\n

I’ve been conned, swindled- pissed!”<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Tired and worn he’d lost the plot<\/strong><\/p>\n

he took his scarf and tied a\u00a0knot<\/strong><\/p>\n

A womble’s tale ends right there<\/strong><\/p>\n

they live in shit, it’s called\u00a0 “Sandwell.”<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
