{"id":935,"date":"2013-03-11T18:53:55","date_gmt":"2013-03-11T18:53:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/whatliesbeneathrattlechainlagoon.org.uk\/?page_id=935"},"modified":"2019-09-02T15:51:34","modified_gmt":"2019-09-02T15:51:34","slug":"knowsley-borough-council","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/whatliesbeneathrattlechainlagoon.org.uk\/?page_id=935","title":{"rendered":"KNOWSLEY COUNCIL"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The borough was formed on 1 April 1974 by the merger of <a title=\"Huyton with Roby Urban District\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Huyton_with_Roby_Urban_District\">Huyton-with-Roby Urban District<\/a>, <a title=\"Kirkby Urban District\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kirkby_Urban_District\">Kirkby Urban District<\/a> and <a title=\"Prescot Urban District\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Prescot_Urban_District\">Prescot Urban District<\/a>, along with most of <a title=\"Whiston Rural District\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Whiston_Rural_District\">Whiston Rural District<\/a> and a small part of <a title=\"West Lancashire Rural District\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/West_Lancashire_Rural_District\">West Lancashire Rural District<\/a>, all from the administrative county of Lancashire.<\/p>\n<p>The Albright and Wilson Kirkby factory was set up to supply <a title=\"STPP\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sodium_triphosphate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sodium tripolyphosphate (STPP)<\/a> for use in detergents.\u00a0It was\u00a0well situated between AW&#8217;s other nearby site interest at Widnes and also Liverpool.
