The picture below confirms it. Note the differing colour of the canal spilling out of The Albright and Wilson\/ICI connected Jim Crow arm compared to the Titford canal above it.\u00a0Connections here flowed to Edgbaston Reservoir, and don&#8217;t forget when it was dredged- Rattlechain lagoon. Just a few years after this 1962 picture, volunteers would be cleaning out the abandoned stretch of contaminated locks!<\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_4276\" style=\"width: 552px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/whatliesbeneathrattlechainlagoon.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/TITFORD-LOCKS-POLLUTION.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4276\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-4276 \" src=\"http:\/\/whatliesbeneathrattlechainlagoon.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/TITFORD-LOCKS-POLLUTION.jpg\" alt=\"TITFORD LOCKS POLLUTION\" width=\"542\" height=\"420\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-4276\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">JIM CROW ARM POLLUTION- AND WHERE IS IT FLOWING FROM?<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a title=\"Jim Crow FOI\" href=\"http:\/\/whatliesbeneathrattlechainlagoon.org.uk\/?page_id=591\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">A freedom of information request <\/a>was asked of British waterways concerning what information they had about the infilling of this canal arm.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b>In\u00a0 &#8220;BCN- a cruising and walking guide&#8221; from 1984, this document notes the now missing Jim Crow arm and the unmistakeable works nearby. <\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>\u201cThe top of the flight passes to the huge chemical works of Albright and Wilson and if the wind is from the west the smell is distinctly unpleasant.
